Dr. Seydou Sinde exemplifies IUGB's vision of excellence and innovation through his distinctive blend of academic leadership, engineering proficiency, industrial experience, and technological advancement. He is instrumental in establishing the School of Science and Engineering as a center for advanced education and practical research in West Africa and beyond.

Leadership

In July 2025, Dr. Sinde was appointed as the Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, a newly formed academic entity that consolidates the previous STEM School with the newly introduced engineering programs, thus enhancing IUGB's strategic stance in the fields of science, engineering, and emerging technologies.

    Thesis: "Casing While Drilling and Its Potential Implementation in the Western Desert Fields of Egypt"

Academic Experience

Dr. Sinde joined IUGB in 2016 as an Assistant Professor in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Since then, he has played a pivotal role in the academic development of several engineering disciplines, including Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering.

Dr. Sinde possesses a wealth of professional experience in the petroleum sector. Between 2006 and 2016, he was employed at PetroServices GmbH – Egypt Branch, where he progressively advanced through various roles including:

  • Mud Logger
  • Data Engineer
  • Pressure Engineer
  • Operations Supervisor
  • Chief Training Instructor

Subsequently, he took on the role of Field Coordinator at Triple L – Free Zone, a directional drilling firm active in Egypt and the Middle East.
